Amazon Kindle – The Kindle’s Subscription Business
The internet giant Amazon.com, Inc., is a multinational technology company focused on e-commerce, cloud computing, digital streaming, and artificial intelligence. It has been called one of the world’s most influential economic forces and one of the most valuable brands. Whether you’re looking for a specific book, a movie, or software, Amazon is your go-to store. As the largest online retailer in the world, Amazon is known for delivering what consumers want and need, and has become an omnipresent part of our lives.
Amazon’s growing distribution network
As the world’s largest retailer, Amazon relies heavily on third-party fulfillment companies to deliver its goods. With more than 50 million Prime members, it’s positioned to gain a majority of the U.S. ecommerce market. Increasingly, it is using air as a means of transportation and has expanded its delivery stations to handle bulky and heavy goods. The company has also rolled out the concept of “white glove delivery” for items weighing between 60 and 300 pounds.
Its cloud business
Amazon. com’s cloud business is a subsidiary of the company, known as Amazon Web Services, Inc. (AWS). This company offers on-demand cloud computing platforms, APIs, metered pay-as-you-go computing capacity, software tools, and server farms. AWS uses a cloud computing platform that’s owned by Amazon. Whether you need more storage or processing power for your website, AWS can help.
Its subscription services
While it is difficult to predict how fast the subscription segment will grow, it has already grown at a fast pace, growing at 39% a year and increasing its overall revenue by 32% in the past year. Several factors could contribute to this growth, including Amazon’s fast growth in international markets, the ability to leverage its growing subscriber base, and the emergence of new subscription services. We’ll examine these issues in more detail below.
Its e-reader
The Kindle has a number of notable features, including a Web browser and an experimental version of the Text-to-Speech engine. The Kindle can also be used to read Wikipedia and other websites, though its use of the internet may be restricted to 50MB a month. It is possible to download MP3 music to the device for listening to while reading. The Kindle can read unprotected Mobipocket files, plain text files, and Amazon’s own AZW format.
Its augmented-reality product
Earlier this year, Amazon. com announced plans to create an augmented-reality shopping experience using Apple’s ARKit technology. The AR experience allows customers to visualize products in their home by pointing a smartphone camera at the room in question. The app will even save a photo of the customer’s room for later viewing. It also lets customers add items to their shopping cart.
